More desks from Sparks. He seems to have more desks than Ikea. So what have we here? Two laptops, two giant monitors and seven packets of headphones? How odd…..
And the keyboard is for RSI: http://stochasticgeometry.wordpress.com/2009/01/16/gunk/
And you can find them in a couple of places online, look for Kinesis keyboards. Nearest place to me is in the UK today, but when I got my first one I had to ship it from California. Utterly worth it. Love the things. Bought that one there with my own money, brought it from job to job for the last four years. It’s a bit expensive, but dirt cheap compared to the cost of new wrists…
Have been thinking about getting one those keyboards for a while now. Let me know if you’d be interested in doing a guest review on http://www.beatingrsi.com.
Y’know, the monitor thing is – no kidding – actually useful and productive, though I wish they were matching types. It’s just too damn useful to have code and database and output of website or whatever, all open at once. Makes it hard going back to a laptop screen in the evenings.
And there’s a Mac Mini buried in there at the back, feeding into the KVM switch that feeds the monitors; but it doesn’t do multihead so it doesn’t feel so fantastic going to work on that.
BeatingRSI, eh? Sounds interesting John, wouldn’t mind at all!
and what’s with the whacky keyboard and how do I get one?
The headsets are for a user trial we’re running in TCD on my project:
